The TP-DCDC-1224 offered by Tycon Power is a low cost and high reliability solution for those requiring 24VDC Power over Ethernet voltage from a 12 or 24V battery system. They have an integrated POE injector to apply the 24VDC to the CAT5/6 Ethernet cable. The output is regulated 24VDC from an input voltage between 9VDC and 36VDC. They have one common (-) and two (+) inputs for connecting 2 power sources, such as a primary with a backup power source. A metal enclosure model is available for industrial applications.

They accept data-in to a shielded RJ45 Jack and provide data-out and POE power on the shielded RJ45 output jack. They work by supplying power on the unused Ethernet pins 4,5(V+) and 7,8(V-). An IEEE 802.3af compliant model is available for those applications requiring 802.3af handshake.

They have various protections for surge, short circuit and overload. The units have power output up to 24W.

The DCDC converters are DIN rail mountable using DIN Rail adaptors pn: DIN-ClipKit-UNI

POE inverter didn't work with a Ubiquiti Radio. The power injection worked fine, but some problem existed with the data link. We tried using a Ubiquiti Gigabit POE and that worked fine. I bought the Tycon because I wanted to use 12 VDC to power the POE. Now I need to use an inverter with the Ubiquiti POE> Tycon's Response: The TP-DCDC-1224 is a 10/100Mb inserter. TP-DCDC-1224G is a gigabit compatible inserter. We have 1000's of customers using the TP-DCDC-1224 and TP-DCDC-1224G successfully with Ubiquiti Radios. Make sure the radio is compatible with 24V Passive PoE. Some of the newer radios are 802.3af/at which are 48V PoE radios.

I bought this device to use with an off grid solar application. I needed a device that I would use 12 volt DC power from my solar battery vice the 115 volt AC device currently in use. This device worked perfectly and I am very happy with this product and the assistance I received when I spoke to TYCON systems directly to inquire if they made a product for my needs. I am very pleased and would recommend TYCON systems and their products to everyone.

Took off working as expected. The 24V PoE injectors have been tough to find in the past but these arrived and were accurately described on the site. Shipping was fast, will buy again.

I wish I had purchased this device years ago. Instead, I used a POE and a voltage step-up--complicated, maybe short of amperage, and not reliable. This POE is simple to use and install. I highly recommend it.
